Balkan Green Foundation (BGF), the GAP Institute, the Group for Jury and Political Studies (GLPS) and the Institute for Development Policy (INDEP), under the campaign, #moshuysemil, have made known the amount of tools spent so far only for New Kosovo project advisers.
This month, the Ministry of Economic Development (MZHE) has announced tender worth 4m euros for the purchase of consultancy services for the “New Kosovo project. With this tender, spending for project consultant “New Kosovo” will reach over 20m euros.
In 2006, the World Bank has hired transaction advisers for the first time, where $1.5m ($4m) was spent by 2011, according to the 2006-2011) currency exchange average, of which $5.5m (U.S.) is covered by Kosovo's budget.
In 2011, the Government of Kosovo took over to engage consular companies for the New Kosovo project, where even 3.9m euros were spent.
Between 2012 and 2015, through several service contracts, the Ministry of Economic Development has hired three different project managers along with support staff for an estimated 200,000 euros.
Moreover, individuals who are committed by the Government of Kosovo to manage the New Kosovo project now serve as private investor employees (Contour Global) selected to invest in the project.
BGF, GAP, GLPS and INDEP, days ago, called for the 4m euro tender for consularisation services for the New Kosovo project to be cancelled.
Also, these organisations require Kosovo's immediate withdrawal from the contract for the construction of this thermal power plant because this contract imposes an unbearable burden on the state budget.
