The German newspaper Der Spiegel has indicated that he has won the trial against Cristiano Ronaldo after the latter had indicted the newspaper for publishing some documents pertaining to Portuguese taxes.
“hackers Football Lex” had provided a large number of documents that shake up the football world. 60 journalists from Der Spiegel had investigated those documents and had finally issued charges against Cristian Ronaldo for tax evasion.
Ronaldo's lawyers sent the German newspaper to court. Initially, the court had decided to force Der Spiegel to erase all articles on the matter. If the decision was not respected, the paper would be fined 250 thousand euros.
During the trial, lawyers accused the German newspaper of using documents obtained by an illegal approach, never denying the authenticity of those documents.
Der Spiegel removed those articles from the digital version, but appealed the verdict. Now, two years later, the Portuguese Superstar lost this trial because the court ruled that the German newspaper had the right to publish those documents.
Last year, Der Spiegel published several more “documents Football Leax”, where Kathryn Mayorga accuses Ronaldo of rape.
