These ovaries were then sold to patients of this clinic from 3,000 to 4,000 thousand euros. Moreover, this clinic allegedly even counterlawed gender definitions, reports KTV.
These were some of the evidence that the prosecution provided, but did not suffice for the court to approve its request for the detention of four suspects arrested two days ago.
On Friday, the court has ruled that four suspects V.K., A.K., I. Mr. and the S.M., to assign the house arrest measure.
They allegedly committed criminal work “illegal transplantation and trafficking of human organs and cells”.
“First, the police and the Prosecutor's Office have received information that at the American clinic Dr. Behar Kusharı, found in Caglavica, is trading ovaries contrary to law. Then, there was a witness who sold the cells in the upper administration, and also informed us that he had sent other people who sold the cells into this organization. After that, the prosecution applied to the court, where secret technical measures of the investigation were issued, where during the legal wiretap, there was incriminating conversation”, the Constitutional Court's ruling reported.
But, one of the suspects in this case, with the initials V.K., co-owner of the clinic “Behar Kusari”, has denied allegations that they have performed transplantation, but have said donor of the cell-vese occurred.
According to the statement given in court, he has said it is voluntary and paid.
“From a donation of cell-scans is paid voluntary bonus, which is listed and signed by the donor himself and then transferred to the patient. The clinic must pay the donor a sum and all the patients that come to us do so voluntarily”, the suspect's statement says.
In this decision, further down, the State Prosecutor has reportedly contacted Health Ministry officials to see if the trade in ovary cells is allowed in Kosovo in this form.
The defendants have known that, because they have been telling customers to go to the office all the time, and, after implementing the secret measures, it is noted that in addition to the supposed travel and analysis expenses, 600 euros or more” are offered, the State Prosecutor's statement says.
After a several-month investigation, Kosovo Police two days ago arrested the four suspects.
During these raids, police had managed to obtain medical files, evidence books, 4 mobile phones and 500 euros in cash.
