Oil is used six times more than gasoline: NGOs seek to lower gasoline price to preserve environment

Over 80 per cent of cars in the country function with oil use, whose quality is significantly lower than gasoline.

And despite that, the fiscal policies of the state are the same as that of only two cents in excises, KTV reports.

The excise for oil is 38 cents per litre, while 36 cents per gas.

For this, environmental protection organisations are certainly seeking to reduce excises for gasoline, with the aim of stimulating its use.

At the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, they show they are awaiting results of tests to see how environmental pollutants stand in order.

A major effect is pollution from gas emissions.

And, in particular, old cars that are big oil users.

Despite major pollution, the Finance Ministry has made no changes to fiscal policies since 2010.

Minister Bedri Hamza's political adviser, Lulzim Rafuna, says there will be no changes either.

Kosovo Customs data shows that oil imports are more likely than gasoline's.

In 2017, oil was imported worth 263m euros, and a year later that amount marked an increase of 17m euros.
