What do you do with old books?
Can you take it to a friend, give it to him or throw it into the container? Many books actually end right there.
But if you live in Bogota, Colombia, one man collects these books. His name is Jose Alberto Gutierrez.

Gutierrez is a garbage collector who has kept twenty-five thousand books thrown away. Books are usually separated from the rest of the trash, and if they're in good shape, this garbage collector takes them home, translates Periscope.
The first book Gutierrez received was the famous “Ana Karenina” written by Leon Tolstoy.

As the number of books grew, people began to ask if they could get a book or two for their children.
Gutierrez's family has helped develop a project and now this man has opened his library called “The wordwork” with which the entire community is served. /Periscope
