Currently, the Berlin Summit is being held, organised by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Whether this summit will produce any political consequences is unknown, with President Thaci too sceptical of it.
German media have alleged that an agreement similar to what is known as the Bazik Treaty, or the model of the two Germanys made in 1972, would be proposed.
This treaty was otherwise called “Treaty on the basis of relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Democratic Republic of Germany”. The Federal Republic of Germany and the Democratic Republic of Germany recognised each other as independent states for the first time.
Following the entry into force of the Four-Fug Agreement from 1971, the two German stations began negotiations on the Bazik Treaty. As for the 1972 Transitional Agreement.
The treaty was signed on 21 December 1972 in East Berlin. It was ratified next year in western Germany, despite strong opposition from extremists right. It went into effect from June 1973.
Both Germany were admitted to the UN on September 18, 1973.
Although formal embassies were established in each other's countries, formal diplomatic reactions had never been established. /Periscopi
