After that, her father suffered a heart attack and died, while she was naked to see her neighbors, KTV reports.
This was the confession of a victim of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo, ahead of conference participants “The voice delivery of these survivors”, on International Women's Day, March 8th.
The woman who spoke said that the pain of this wound is compounded when the perpetrators are free and none of them have so far been convicted of thousands of other rape cases.
Although the work of the state of Kosovo was praised as the only country to have started with the distribution of pensions for this category, greater commitment and support were required.
Kosovo is seen as the best example for supporting the victims of sexual violence, drafting the legal basis for pension giving. Kosovo society must also support survivors of sexual violence and if you need our help, you will have it, just tell us”, said Christian Heldt, Germany's ambassador to Kosovo.
Kosovo has achieved certain progress for victims to come out and openly confess what has happened to them and have support. But I would like to mention two more areas for which the country's leaders should do even more than the same treatment of victims of other communities and the support of victims of domestic violence”, said Philip Costnet, the US ambassador to Kosovo.
Let's celebrate what has been achieved in this category, but let's hear the other voices of the victims, since their voice is the most powerful”, Ruairi O'Connell, proclaimed the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo.
Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj pledged he would continue to further support this category.
Internationals also called for perpetrators to fight and be punished for their terrible deeds, for they believe that such violence cannot be left unpunished.
