It was commemorated in Skenderaj, March 29th marking the heroic fall of Avdullah Kodra in 1999.

To honour his contribution during the war in Kosovo, officials of the Skywright municipality, family and citizens have been paying their respects near his grave at the Marie Witness complex.

Scytheright Mayor Bekim Jashari, after setting flowers on Kodra's grave, said that the month of March they will cost the martyrs, because that's the least we can do for them.

And we're going to be doing the homing and honours, with the greatest possible respect as we can and as we're knowing about these martyrs, the heroes we've been able to set free today, that we're bound to honor, to remember but also to work together for a better future for all of us for our children, because they have defeated us to be free today. We have a constitutional and moral obligation to be united, unique among ourselves, as they were for 20 years and we are together to build our country as they wanted it to be, Jashar said.

The first of Scythemes, today, has been homazhed even near the Lapidar of the martyrs in Down Below Squirrel.

From there Yasar renewed calls for unity, for according to him, only united can we bring home the message of the martyrs fallen for freedom.

Jashar said he is not tired of the many activities of March, where he has honoured each of the martyrs fallen in the Drenica region.

By honoring the martyrs, honoring ourselves, honoring our future. Once again, I demand that all of you, the understanding to have each other together, to help each other, to work for the good of this country, for the common good of all of us. Don't get mad at us not to be torn apart, we have a day harder to be together to help each other, why aren't we together today? We can't be together, love each other and work properly and as we look forward to this place”, Jashar said.

The mayor of Scythews since the beginning of March, during which months many of the martyrs on that side fell for freedom, has carried on activities under his auspices, performing their prayers and organising the memorial academy.

We remember that testified Avdullah Kodra came heroicly on March 29th 1999, where he was killed by Serb forces while facing them in the country's liberation fight.
