Confession of Sex Violence Survivors on March 8 calls for justice

May 5, 1999, recalls it with much pain and body, for on that day, three Serbs in front of her family violated her, and as a result, she continues to feel bad today because they were not yet condemned to the chief of this macabre crime. This survivor of violence [...]
This survivor of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo, along with another victim from Pristina, has chosen on International Women's Day to share their confession with everyone at the conference organised by the Jahaga Foundation with the “voice of sexual violence survivors during the war in Kosovo”.
This survivor of Gjakova's sexual violence showed how the terrible event that she experienced in the recent war in Kosovo, as a result of which she is almost lonely and without anyone's support.
She relates that for a long time she had not left home, for everyone looked at her and talked about her and what had happened to her.
Now 21 years after the war as 45 years old, it requires justice for her and all the women and men violated by the Serbian army chief.
I've been sitting in the corner and being told not to beat my parents anymore, they've torn my clothes apart, they've raped me in the eyes of both my parents, they've been pulling me up, they've got me out of the street, I can't talk about it anymore, but a dick has taken me in the yard with a bunch of people who gave me a couple of clothes, he's been saying here, after they've gone away, I've followed him to tell him because I didn't want to see him anymore than my mom, and they played me when I had a bad hair when he got to me when he got a minute of breakfast, he didn't tell me what he did, he didn't tell me.
Its experience with all of us today also divided the other victims of sexual violence during the Kosovo conflict, which was from Pristina, which had been violated for about six hours by Serb policemen in masks.
She said that except for the husband and association “Medica Gjakova”, no one has until today shared her confession, while saying she would feel freer if the leaders of this work were punished against her and other victims in Kosovo.
I'm at home, I'm out on the street with little kids, I'm out buying food, I've had refugees at home. On the way, I was with the angel's wife at school “Sam Frasher”, there were all the Serbian police in there, and there were masks all over them, and I was separated from the angel's wife, and I was put in school for over five hours, six hours, and I'm not exactly there when they took me out for God's forgiveness. I've had my husband's support. I'm not in company. He's looking for me until I heard about Medica Gjakova. Many Albanian sisters have, I haven't looked, I can't remember seeing someone. About five hours I went to school. I've been shot out without clothes in my body even when I've been shot out by a person, she's helped me hunt my pillow, and she said that I didn't dare help”, she told me.
At this same conference, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramudh Haradinaj has guaranteed all victims of sexual violence that Kosovo is willing to stay close to them to heal this plague of our society.
According to him, the leaders of this work should not be amnistered and that healing this wound heals many more wounds affecting a better future in the Balkans.
By healing this wound to heal all the wounds of the people and the region, we can finally have a peace that is, as our people say, a peace of soul and heart and then peace on all other subjects. Like Kosovo, we are willing to help heal Kosovo's wounds first, but also our Balkan region, which has a painful, tragic past and never to repeat it again. I believe that this benefits all of us living in the Balkans... Even in our region, I think it's of great interest that such wounds of the past are healed, our region may be from the biggest wounds it has, and it's also a sensitive topic, and that it hurts it is saying the whole sense of attaining lasting peace... It is to the benefit of all peoples that no one will amnition such a veg but also the courage to seek forgiveness, and I am also saying once again the confrontation with all these wounds of the past”, Haradinaj has declared.
The executive head, congratulating all women on March 8th, said our country has progressed especially in terms of registering property and employment quotas.
The founder of the Jahjaga Foundation, Atifete Jahjaga, said that 21 years after the war, survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo continue to live in fear that what has happened to them is being understood.
Former Kosovo president has said the example should be taken from Vasfije Krasniqi, who has taken the courage to speak, and her family, who have always supported her.
As a host of this event, it has called on international institutions to continue supporting Kosovo and victims of sexual violence in implementing their demand for the condemnation of those who committed these acts.
A society that does not tolerate impunity, condemns violence and shows support for those who have experienced any form of violence is the best society for all, not just for survivors of sexual violence such as our case in Kosovo. Let us become stronger for survivors, let us be there for emotional support but also for support in the long process of seeking justice. We who know them well that they are much more than the experience themselves, to show society all that makes them special that is not the event that happened to them 20 years ago and only if a prejudg person puts them before shame”, Jahjaga noted.
The ambassador of the United States of America to Kosovo, Philip Costnet and Kosovo, has created an environment where support is offered to survivors of sexual violence.
He has demanded that all victims of sexual violence be treated equally regardless of the community they belong to.
I think politicians should change their first approach to ensuring access to justice and equal services to victims of sexual violence during the war by minority ranks. Among some leaders, it is a sense that doing so would mean the moral equality of atrocities approved by the state during the war period and other crimes during and after the war. I have to disagree with this because for the honest assessment of the past compassion and support must be given to all victims. The provision of pension services for minorities also expresses the understanding that victims, regardless of where they live and what language they speak, face similar challenges”, the American ambassador has said.
Presented at the “voice conference of survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo” were the other ambassadors of the friendly states of Kosovo, such as Germany's Christian Heldt and that of Great Britain, Ruairi O'Connell, who have praised the help of Kosovo institutions to help survivors of sexual violence during the war, saying that in this respect Kosovo is an example of support to survivors.
Through a letter of support to victims of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo has also offered Nobel Peace Prize winner 2018 Nadia Murad.
The conference “The voice of sexually violent survivors during the war in Kosovo” was defeated by the co-operation of the Jahjaga Foundation, the German Embassy in Kosovo and the United Nations.
