More than 1 million people have been hit by this Cyclone in three countries in South Africa, according to UN data and official government sources. The largest damaged city is the portal city of Beira, where the airport is closed, has no electricity, and many homes result in destruction.
From Friday, the tropical Cyclone caused flooding in southern Malawi and in some areas of Zimbabwe.
Heavy rains have destroyed many buildings, roads, ports, and the government of Malawi and Mozambique has declared a state of emergency seeking international assistance.
Cyclone Idai has hit African states with winds reaching up to 225 km/h.
