One of Europe's poorest countries is politically divided between pro-Western and pro-Russian factions.
“Although people behind this activity tried to hide their identity, our manual review found that some of these activities were related to Moldovan government employees”, cyber security chief Nathan Glicher said in a statement.
According to him, the activity in Moldova was done through “using false and authentic accounts to deceive others about who they were and what they were doing”.
“These accounts also distributed manipulated photos, divisive stories and satire”. Glicher said, the Periscope broadcast.
