Pacolli: To preserve our friendship with the U.S.A., a tree that doesn't water every day drys

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli is seeking a joint, urgent meeting, of all Kosovo political leaders with US and Western friends for him, as he says, “co-ordinated our actions, which would be them but that go in the interest of friendship with our Western allies and in national interest” In one [...]
In a Facebook post, Pacolli, who is also foreign minister, has said that friendships between people, but between states, need daily action, to survive and be long-term, “also like a tree that needs water every day, or else it gets dried up”.
“We, the people of Kosovo, should be grateful that the US, has always posted and especially in recent days, friendship with us. With President Trump's letters to President Thaci, or the letters of the three main US institutions, it has clearly proved that the US wants the perfection of Kosovo's statehood. This involvement of the US that wants our strength, our integration, our recognition from Serbia, is a blessing to us! This should be especially understood and taken into account!
On the other hand, the chief of Kosovo diplomacy says that “we are not the center of the world, nor are we ever going to be, so we have to assess this next position by the US in our favour of”.
“We need to find the right solution to respect any request of our friends and who are in our interest. We, all our institutions, need to speak in a voice as President Trump asked us to. These letters in such a short time, their messages in accordance with each other, are an opportunity for us to grow stronger and not split up! So I invite for a joint, urgent meeting of all of Kosovo's political leaders with our U.S. and West friends to coordinate our actions, what they will be, but that goes on to the interest of friendship with our Western allies and in national interest”, Pacolli stressed, while adding at the end that, “koha does not wait, is the moment of big decisions”.
We remember that President Donald Trump, in a letter sent long ago to President Thaci, had requested restraint “from actions that could make it difficult to reach agreement” for peace with Serbia.
