In October, the Serbian government signed a consensus agreement with the Bechtel company for the construction of the 110km-long highway that will connect Cacak with Krusevac, in central Serbia.
According to the Serbian government, investment in the project is forecast to be 800m euros (906.4m US dollars). On the other hand, in building highways in Kosovo, Bechtel has been almost twice as expensive.
The final cost of Elez's Pristina- Hani Highway, which connects Kosovo with Macedonia, at a length of 55km, could amount to about 700m euros, which Minister of Infrastructure Pal Lekaj had said himself.
Based on the cost estimates of this highway in Serbia, it turns out that 1km will cost 7.27m euros, while the cost of 1 kilometer highway in Kosovo, on the highway connecting Pristina and Skopje, has cost 12.72m euros.
