American boxer Deontay Wilder, world champion in heavy weight in WBC category, in an interview for E SPN has analysed the challenge of Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr, held a few days ago in Saudi Arabia.
The British won this challenge with unanimous decision, regaining world champions' titles.
I didn't like the way Joshua was prepared for this challenge and the way he acted in the ring. Joshua, a much longer fighter than Ruiz, ran and avoided contact with his rival, as he seemed to be afraid of him”, Wilder said.
I did not understand why Joshua avoided contact with Ruiz, to a shorter, fatter boxer who could barely move into the ring.
It was clear that Joshua was afraid and used the style of Klitschko, a boring boxing style, especially for a world champion”, Wilder said.
