Long receptions at the entrance of Merdare, fellow countrymen blame institutions

Only at the border point in Merdare, fellow countrymen have been waiting for up to four hours since morning. The latter are blaming the country's institutions, while other border points are being used by Kosovo police.

Every time he takes the road to Kosovo, Heidi Ibrahimi is making nearly two days' trip from Germany to his homeland. He says that only at the border point in Merdara today has he waited four and a half hours, as long as he is blaming the Government of Kosovo.

I've waited four and a half hours, this is a disaster, every year like this. Since four and a half hours of waiting, little children, this is not normal for our government, it's not okay... the government can take some measures, at the level is the order people are expecting. I blame the government. Our government can undertake something, that the Serbian side is doing these”, he says.

Shefqet Jasanica from Vranidolli, who was coming from Germany, has been headed with families to come to Kosovo for 24 hours. He's saying they're bored with these expectations every time they come home.

In Croatia we have waited an eight-hour wait... here we have waited two and a half hours... our country, those government that have become swollen and become a disgrace should come from you who have no interest in their own people, have been enriched and people are suffering bad”, he says.

For this, Ahmet Deda, who has been waiting almost all morning, says they have to build capacity.

“Sic works in Europe here should be added more sports, because if you go to customs that way, you'll see, there are only two sportsmen out of four that are only two that are existing, if there are four that wouldn't be that many cars, but half of them”, he claims.

According to data from the National Border Management Centre, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs at 15:28, the entry columns in Merdare are over 150 minutes.

The access to the Merdar border point is 150-180 minutes. And the 5-10 minute exit. The column is between 1500 and 1800 meters long at the entrance. At the next border point at the White Endeavour, citizens are waiting 70-90 minutes, while the column is 500 meters”, the national border management centre says.

In this regard for Kp Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha says they are taking necessary measures for relief in circulation.

Kosovo's “Police depending on the flow, the number of two large vehicles and buses with travelers that also require specific control and management procedures at border crossings, are also taking necessary measures to increase our capacity for circulation relief, however, control procedures apply to the other Serbian side, in the part where they are also causing longer expectations and columns of”, he says of Kosovas.

According to Hoxha, long expectations are being caused during entry to this border point, the Serbian side.

In addition, it has asked citizens to use other alternative points, respectively, where there are fewer expectations.
