With this victory they stand at the top of the Bundesliga table with two points more than Borussia Montengladbach.

Leipzig is the first team from former East Germany to close the winter route at the top of the table, at the German elite football championship.

The team that has been formed for only 10 years now numbers 37 points in 17 games, with a goal-deference 28.

Leipzig leaves behind Gladback, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. It remains to be seen whether this performance can be maintained even after the winter break.
