The incumbent Minister of Health, Uran Ismaili, has received an official letter from his German counterpart, Jens Spahn. Through this letter, German Health Minister Jens Spahn confirmed the German state's readiness for help in creating health insurance.
Co-operation between the Kosovo Health Insurance Fund and the German Security Fund, AOK, which will start immediately in January 2020, is a concrete result of a joint memorandum of understanding that was signed in July of this year.
During a media conference today held by incumbent Health Minister Uran Ismaili and Germany's Ambassador to Kosovo Christian Heldt, Minister Ismaili has said this co-operation agreement is a major step towards realising health insurance.
A particularly good and important day for Kosovo health. Now we are launching concrete co-operation with Germany to operate the Health Security Fund, which stems from the agreement signed in July with German Minister Spahn”, Ismaili has said.
According to Ismaili, the project will be divided into two phases, the first of which will begin in January 2020.
