Visar Mujku Nimani, leader of the UN Population Fund's Office, has said that the latest data in Kosovo shows the rise of the selective abortion.
She made these comments at the Social Dialog, women for development.
She also gave a shocking detail, saying that three women died this year, on the days of pregnancy, until there's no research about why they died.
The data shows that there has been discrimination in Kosovo since the child is in the womb of the nana, in Kosovo we have been given much for selective abortion. So when they have one, two, three girls, then it's just beginning to discriminate in the sense of abortion. We've done the research, the facts exist. This year the birth rate is 109 boys for 100 girls, showing the continuation of selective abortion. The discrimination is unfortunately beginning in the womb. In 2019 there are three cases of maternity death, women who die in 40 at birth are not evidents, it's not about why the deaths of these women occurred. These deaths are not even in the civil registry, at death certificates they don't figure those women were pregnant at death”, she said. /Periscope.
