Former Blyis and Skenderbe in Albania football player Peter Olainka is receiving the attention of many media across Europe, following very good presentations with Slavia Prague at Champions League, where he also scored Inter at “San Siro”
The English media giant BBC has devoted a long article to the attacker himself to telling his story from the start of his career, his arrival in Albania, where he earned only $100 a month, to where he has reached the highest European football peaks.
Six-six years ago, I watched Lionel Messin, Romelu Lukek, George Pike and Axel Vitsel on TV from Nigeria and it's extremely incredible to play against them in the League Champions. My life has been too busy to get here, but here I am, and the past just urges me to move forward”, he was first expressed.

The BBC writes that the 24-year-old professional career has had many challenges. He has played in the poor fields of Nigeria, Albania, Northern Cyprus and Belgium. Olainka began her career with the amateur club Baba Boss before joining the Ballshis age team in 2012. Here he tried to play for a low salary, but also the cold he had never felt as much as in the Balkans.
When I arrived in Albania, I had only athletes, hopes and dreams. I knew nothing about the Balkan Peninsula. So I felt alone and couldn't speak language. It was very difficult, but my desire for soccer and Europe warmed my heart because I couldn't go back to Nigeria”, he says.
After good matches with age teams, he switched to the first Bylis team, where he played in 14 matches and shone in the Cup.

When I arrived in Albania, I played for young people and received $100 a month. Paying was delayed sometimes, and it took weeks to get it. I was unhappy and wanted to earn more. My family and friends had expectations, but I couldn't meet their demands because $100 was everything I had”, he confessed.
After completing the contract with Bylis, he went to Turkey for a test of Antalyaspor and Denizlispor in 2014. But it ends up playing for a team in Northern Cyprus because of the largest minutes under foot and higher wages. After this experience, he returns to Albania, becoming subject to discussion between Kukes and Skenderbeu clubs, and ending with a conviction due to transfer problems.
“news on all Albanian television reports that I was “lost” by officials of another team against my will. What happened is that a club (Kukesi) thought there was a verbal agreement with us during the day, but later they discovered that I had signed for their rivals (Skenderbe). Everything was a mess. The fact that two clubs were fighting for me showed me that I was moving in the right direction”, he said.

With the ravens, he scored 19 goals, paving the way for a transfer to Gent's team in 2016. It's borrowed here for the Prague Duka and then for Zulte Wiregem. Olayinka enters the eyes of Slavia of Prague, who sign with him for 3.2m euros. While playing in Albania, but also in Czechia, Olayinka points out that he has never been a victim of racism.
I can tell you what I've experienced. Albania and Chekhia have been very supportive of color players. The response to colored players is very positive and I have never experienced racism here or in Albania”, he said.
The young man from Nigeria, who once played in the poor fields of his hometown, already represents his own nation. This Tuesday, it descends to the field of “Signal Iduna Park”, the Dortmund Borussia stadium for the next worthy game of the League Champions.
