During the Kosovo War, Albin Morina was a refugee in Albania, and today, 20 years later, he returned, making his contribution as a nurse to families affected by the earthquake.

With deep gratitude to the solidarity shown by Albania's Albanians in the war years, who opened the doors of homes for shelter, twenty-three-year-old from the village of Brattotin of the Kosovo municipality of Rahovec, decided to return after 20 years, affected by many of what happened in his old office, but now as her servant.

I decided as a nurse to serve people and hearts who needed me most, families affected by the earthquake. We arrived on the first day of November 26, and offered medical services, and we provided all of ourselves with sweet words to warm up the souls of our loved ones, a little relief to everyone's suffering that was affected by that earthquake. They were grieving, and their pain was also our pain. With a smile that fights shines among tears, I pray for all those who died and all those affected by the earthquake. Remember, though, that during history our enemies have wavered to divide us. This term shook us to bring us together”, Albin told the Albanian Telegraph Agency.

He claims he was only 3 when he was forced to leave Kosovo and that the first days along with his family spent in Kukes to then proceed to Hamallaj, Durres.

“The war had already begun since 1998, indicating the worst forms of genocide, which in times of deterioration, nor freedom nor life was safer. We were expelled from our fathers ' homes and considered strangers in our country. After many challenges that could endanger our lives, we were only four members. I was three years old, and my brother was not yet a year old. I remember that, on May 6, 1999, we set out to cross the border to Albania, a border that existed for our minds, but not for our hearts, that beyond that border we saw the hands and hearts of the Albanian brothers willing to solidify and warm our souls after all those ruins, feelings of trauma”, Morina relates.

He says the first <x0 Days were spent in Kukes to then proceed to Hamallaj, Durres, to join the Spanish military camp that had set up tents and opened hearts for Kosovars. There we also provided IDs for the camp. My father was a teacher so he took the initiative with the Spanish military leaders to open an improvised school for all children. This campus and school were also visited by then prime minister of Spain, H. M. Aznar, memory of this that's stored in a photograph that we continue to keep and remember”.

From what my parents confessed to me, I was one of the most beloved children in the camp, perhaps because the few things we took away, the hope of returning home weighed more than most, and I illustrated this hope with the pure childhood smile. We stayed in this camp for six weeks, anxious about the family that had remained in Kosovo, grateful for the love and help that all our Albanian brothers offered us. We returned one day to Kosovo, but across the border that was just en route, I made a promise: I will return once again to find my own history”, Albin Morina said.

Amid emotions, he says he decided to return to the old house, where amid the pain of deportation from Kosovo, his heart was warmed by the love and hospitality of Albanians.

After 20 years, deeply affected by what happened, I decided to return to the old suit, but now as her servant. I am currently working on the quality of assistant professor at AAB College, this country that reflects high values of humanity. In view of the need, we decided to get help, and we decided to join those carrying our blood. As a nurse, I decided to serve people and hearts who needed me most - families affected by the earthquake. We arrived on the first day of November 26th and offered medical services, stood by with kind words to warm your souls, and a little relief to all who were affected by that earthquake. They were grieving, and their pain was also our pain. With a smile struggling to shine through tears, I pray for all those who died and all those affected by the earthquake. Remember, though, that during history our enemies have wavered to divide us. This earthquake shook us to join us. How much I'd like to have another word but there's no more beautiful words than: Thank you, Albania. We're one, we've always been like this”

Albin tells us about ATSH that he was once asked what he would do if he touched the top, and he had given them this answer: I will extend my hand to raise others.
