Northern Macedonia President Stevo Pendarovski believes the initiative known as “Minni-Balkan Schengeni” should include other states from the Western Balkans, including Kosovo.
He thus declared at a media conference after meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
When asked if you see Kosovo part of “The small Schengen”, Pendarovski, responded that this initiative currently has a weak structure.
It does not include all six states, and I do not want to interfere with relations between Belgrade and Pristina, but I think a solution should be found for Bosnia and Herzegovina and others to join the initiative as well. This is the only way we will have benefits, without prejudiced the Kosovo status issue. What Belgrade and Pristina will decide depends on them”, he said, adding that the initiative is not substitute for EU membership.
He said he and Vuciq had agreed that bilateral relations between their countries were excellent and without controversy.
Meanwhile, the Serbian president said who doesn't understand “Mini-Shengin” doesn't understand politics
“Whoever doesn't understand the economic initiative to form a “Mini-Shengen” not only doesn't understand politics, but doesn't even understand what their children's future should look like.
