Official: Tottenham appoints Mourinho coach

News of Jose Mourinho's appointment in this position comes just a few hours after Maurizio Pochettino was dismissed from the club, due to the team's poor form at the start of this season.

Morainho has been unemployed as a coach since December 2018, when he was dismissed by Manchester Unitedi. Now, three-time Premierliga's winner is about to turn to the football world.

Under Pochetttino's leadership during this period, Tottenham ended up at Premierliga's four-time top and reached the Champions League final in the 2018/19 season.

However, the London club has won only five matches so far, and club chairman Daniel Levy made it clear that a big change is needed for the benefit of the club.

“We have greatly hesitated to make this change and it is not a decision which the board has taken easily or hastily”, Levy said.

We regret that the results at the end of last season and at the start of this season are extremely disappointing”, he added.

“Mauricio and his staff will always be in our history”, he stressed.

While Tottenham had a successful season in Europe last edition, his form in the league was extremely weak most of 2019.

Since victory 3:1 against Leicester City on February 10th, Tottenham has won only six of the last 24 matches in Premierliga.

Right now, Tottenham is ranked 14th in Premierligla.
