Museum Union doesn't want the new director

The union of the National Museum of Kosovo, after the situation created with the Commission's decision on Ances and Parasetas in the MKRS, on the return of Kosovo National Museum Director Ajet Leci, has expressed concern over the performance of the process in question.

According to the union, the election of the director of the Kosovo National Museum has not been made on the basis of respecting the legal procedures and performance of candidates, but on party and nepotic grounds, violating legal principles defined by the laws in force.

The union says this process begins to be degraded by the period of drafting regulation 15/2018 for the promotions and salaries of the creators and cultural performers and professional cultural heritage workers, and with particular emphasis, the MKK statute, which has been drafted and adopted without consulting MKK workers, and as such has been designed with a complete political content, against the professional principles of the museum workers.

“Throughout the entire recruiting process, there were violations in the development of procedures, such as the process of career recruiting conducted as the first procedure, has not been carried out according to regulation procedures no. 21/2012 for the Civil Officers' Parliament Avancing, the organisation of the writing test had selective character, drawing up non-artical questions that were not properly devised and with a tendency to political manipulation. The union's leadership estimates that the museum continues to remain at intersections, being offended and degraded in various ways and forms by political parties which led the MKRS, in concrete cases, PDK”, said in response.

In this case, the Kosovo National Museum Workers' Union called on incumbent Minister Kujtim Gashi, Deputy Secretary Veton Firzi, the staff office in the MKRS and the Commission for Anxiety and Parashtes in MKRS;

“Canceling the Commission's Anti-legal Decision on Anxiety and Parascre in the MKRS to stop political party appointments which degrade the highest institution of cultural-museral heritage in the country to organise a new competition with independent professional criteria, etc. The union of MKK workers, through this letter, reconfirms once again that in the event of non-fulfillment of higher demand, it would continue to seek respect for requests in question through legal ways and other forms”, it is said in response. /Kosovo pres/
