Thierry Henry was introduced as the new coach of Montreal Impact in Major League Socce, a club that seeks reaffirmation after the terrifying experience he spent in Monaco in France a year ago.
Juventu's former striker, Barcelona Arsenal, believes he can succeed in Canadian club without many financial resources.
Henry has signed a two-year contract with the aim of building an ambitious team before the new season, starting in early spring. The Frenchman also spoke of his failures during the press conference, stressing that it is very important to know how to rebuild.
You need to start somewhere, so you get experience. He came to me with Belgium and Monaco, where I learned a lot about myself. This is not just my story, it's everyone's story. Everyone falls, but the important thing is to know how to get up. It didn't work in Monaco. I can give you a lot of excuses, but at the end of the day it didn't work, and I'm here as Montreal coach. I learned a lot there. The only mistake you can make is not learning from what happened.”
I asked for intentions that at the top of Montreal Impact, Henry answered:
“The team is often a coach's reflection, but I want the community, the players to feel what's happening in this city. Financials are not a problem. In this league, winning teams don't always have money.”
