In Emirates, the side from Kosovo would find two other Albanians -- its co-player at Switzerland's Nationale Granit Jaka -- and former German defender Shkodran Mustaf.
The 28-year-old from Gjilan has made only four performances for Liverpool in all competitions so far this season.
A series of injuries and a strong race for an attack site have made Shaqiri's chances of playing the Jurgen Klopp team markedly limited this season.
According to Football Insider, Shaqiri will leave Liverpool at the end of this season.
He is believed to be aware that he is fighting a losing battle against Roberto Florino, Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah for the assault line.
Clopp would not accept his departure in January, but would be reconciled left free on the side in the summer.
