The 26-year-old labour experience assistant, dismissed at the Faculty of Medicine, addresses private universities and excludes evacuation

The assistant at the Faculty of Medicine in Pristina, Teuta Bicaj on Tuesday, has resigned from the assistant's position in the Stomatological Protetics at Pristina University, writes Indexline.

Biccaj in an interview for Indexline said that this decision came because there was no teaching competition for the subject to which it was called, reasoning that there is not enough hours.

She has said she has assistants at the Medical Faculty who have advanced to professors even without having these <x0-seconds sufficient””.

She even said her request to open contests has not been considered at all in the collection of scientific education, nor have they discussed it, nor has it been prosecuted in the reactors.

“What is the worst, there has been no demand for accepting even the new assistants, for whom there is a great need for”, she said.

And according to her, she's an adequate quartadine to legalize her class.

I think that a framework like me -- which I'm not the only one -- that I've completed, after 5 years of study, doctorate (now new generations go directly to doctoral studies), specialization, training, publication, translation of the book, engagement and endless investment -- deserves one day to enjoy the right to be elected professor.

So, what is the purpose of all this effort? So you can be just an assistant forever? Why does the university force us to practice, to invest endlessly in scientific research, in publications (investments that are paid privately, don't take away these investments from us, but on the other hand it's bound to end) and in the end you can't enjoy the right to advance”, she said.

Bicaj also talked about the huge absence of FM assistants. She has said there are currently about 380 students who should be taught by only four regular assistants and three professors. While at least 9 assistants are needed under the current rate of assistants, she said.

Then there is the problem that practical learning is related to health, respectively, to working with patients. In the clinic where I work, except for assistants who have to work with patients (so that even students can work with patients) there are doctors who are not in school. The average staff (the doctor's assistants/“sisters, ”, dental technicians), cannot cope with all this student flow, and we have a work rate that we have to share with doctors. That standard is not enough to offer students practical work. Most of the jobs, not even as a demonstration, will not be able to see it work itself”, she said.

For this reason, Bicaj has been forced to resign by leading him to run private universities, in which he believes he will be more valued.

She did not dismiss the possibility of escape abroad, writes Indexline.

“I'm not out of work. I'm gonna continue to work in health where I work. But in terms of belonging, where I've even melted my life, I have to continue at a private university (which I believe will be appreciated more), and maybe even try somewhere outside Kosovo. The European Association of Prothetics, just a few months ago, has known my specialization, so I believe that it gives me a way to try even further from”.

In the end, Bicaj delivered a message to institutions, saying that without changing university policies and depoliticising the university, there will be no progress.
