The number of applicants for the status of victim of sexual violence in war falls

In recent months the number of people who have applied to obtain the status of the victim of war sex violence has dropped. This number, according to representatives of organisations that have been dealing with the victims of sexual violence since the post-war, is satisfactory when compared with the number of victims of sexual violence that have responded to the verification process in the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. There, according to them, only about a thousand people have applied since 2006, writes Koha Ditore today.
Despite that, according to the director of the non-governmental organisation “Medica Gjakova”, Mirlinda Sada, there is a decline in the number of applicants in recent months compared to the beginning of the process.
If we look at it from the beginning, the first few months to the present we see that there's a drop in apps, but it doesn't mean there's going to be no lift, because we need a lot of work to do because the stigma is still too big”, Sada stressed.
For about a thousand applicants to receive the status of the victim of war violence, it was reported five months ago.
But according to her, the quantity of those who have applied is not small if compared to other countries. For almost two years, if we compare it to other countries, we are very good, to catch it in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2006 until now 1,000 cases have been applied, so we have more than 1,000 cases of”, Sada has declared.
The app formula can be added to other documents, such as the medical report, the psychological report, the law report, the witness statement, and others. The whole process in this regulation is guaranteed to be confidential.
