The Special Prosecutor, headquartered in The Hague, has intensified his work in recent days by sending an invitation for an interview to former Kosovo Parliament President Fadil Beka and two former KLA members, Fatmir Sopi and Sej Veselin.
Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday that the invitation from this body was received by incumbent Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, but he neither claimed nor denied it, writes today the newspaper “Zeri”.
The Special Prosecutor's Investigations, headquartered at The Hague, have added the names of three other former KLA participants who must appear before this body for interview. Former Kosovo Assembly President, who served as a wartime doctor, Fadil Beka, and former KLA members Fatmir Sopi and Sejdiu Veselini, are the last figures to have been invited for interview by The Hague Special Prosecutor.
Also Wednesday, media reported that even incumbent Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri has received an invitation from the Special Prosecutor, but he has refused to talk about it himself. Meanwhile, the number of people invited so far by the Special Court has managed to pass 100, as part of the interviews were important figures of the political scene in the country, such as incumbent Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, former Lap Operative Zone commander Rrustem Mustafa and former commander Sami Lushtaku, one of the leading leaders of the Nodedia, Shukry Buja, Time Kadrija, Sylejman Selimi of many other former KLA members.
On the other hand, representatives of the KLA Veterans' Organisation have told the newspaper that very soon the first arrests are expected, while lawyers accredited by this institution have indicated that such a thing cannot be predicted yet.
