And for it, another 32m euros could end up in the consortium budget “Bechtel-Enka”.
As Life in Kosovo has reported, the demand for such a sum, already from the Ministry of Infrastructure that had negotiated works with the consortium, has gone to the Ministry of Finance.
Recalling the decision to provide 53m euros for payment delays, policy analyst from the GAP institute, Agron Demi, considers that the Haradinaj government in less than two years has wasted over 90m euros of budget on this highway, KTV reports.
And the goal, according to him, is for the consortium to remain in Kosovo for another project.
So, through suspicious decisions, the Government has managed to increase the cost of the highway for at least 14% of the initial value of the contract of 599.9 million euros. The Ministry of Infrastructure has never made public contracts and decisions on additional expenses. I think that extra work on the Pristina highway- Skopje is just reason to keep Kosovo's stock plant Enka's until the opening of the tender of the Dukagjini Highway”, Agron Demi, political analyst at the GAP Institute, said.
Demi requires the future government to publish contracts for highways, while considering that the decision to allocate 32m euros without tendering processes should also be subject to prosecution investigation.
For lack of transparency and doubts about the process, like analyst Krenar Shala, he expects the new government to reconsider the decision.
With 32m and 200 thousand euros, construction of the two highways is planned and an overpass in the village of Paldenice in Elez's Khan, which residents of this village had sought several times through protests.
