Moscow can participate in the dialogue process for Kosovo, only if Belgrade shows concern and receives a call from Serbia.
This is Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko's statement to the Serbian daily “Novosti”.
He also stressed that the format of dialogue must be changed so that, in addition to the EU, representatives of Russia, the US and other major powers are directly involved.
“We currently don't see preconditions for efficient talks”, he said.
Kosovo's “issue should be resolved in accordance with international law, with Security Council Resolution 1222, Kharchenko added.
In the question of whether Moscow can support a solution that could go towards the correction of borders, if both sides agree on it, Kharchenko said: “For us there can be no correction of borders between the two states because we do not recognise Kosovo”.
Kosovo is now the province as part of Serbia. Finally, we will support any option Belgrade and Pristina” deal with, he concluded.
