Kurti: Istanbul archives important to reject Serbia's Kosovo claims

Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti has said Istanbul archives are important to reject Serbia's claims in Kosovo.

According to Kurti, archives from the Ottoman Empire in Istanbul are of great importance to Serbia's myth. He points out that about 15 percent of the archives in Istanbul, which deal with the areas where Albanians live and that in the Ottoman Empire, they have not yet been able to open.

As Kurti says, a considerable number of Ottomans and historians will be needed to investigate these archives, whose findings and studies will be important to counter Serbia's claims in Kosovo.

The “in Istanbul archives has a considerable part yet undiscovered of the truth of Albanian villas in the Ottoman Empire, where it proves and shows that Albanians have been both with the presence of the population, and with their culture and activity always overwhelming people not only in Kosovo and Albania, but also around these two countries”, explains Kurti for AA.

According to him, Kosovo's independence is not enough, but decolonisation is also needed, which, he says, has the true history of the autochton people who have never listed the uprisings, but to whom the truth of foreign power has been imposed”.

I believe that Serbia has an unfortunate and tragic trajectory, which has been extremely painful for us and turns from myth to genocide. In order never to have genocide again, we must dismantle myth and myth is dismantled with real history, where very important parts are the archives of Istanbul”, says Kurti.
