The director of the Road Communications Division in the Kosovo Police, Lieutenant Colonel Jeton Rexhepi, expressed the need for a greater education and awareness of the citizens of road traffic during the marking of this day.
As he showed some of the police statistics on traffic accidents, according to him the situation regarding fatal accidents in Pristina in the January-September 2019 period is better than the previous year.
For the January-September part of this year, we can say it's a slightly better situation in terms of dead persons. We have one person less, we have 136 accidents with fewer injuries. There are 513 less injured persons we consider to be an activity of positive police commitments”, said Lieutenant Colonel Rexhepi.
While Kosovo police praise themselves for only one death less, we remember that such a thing may have happened very easily by chance, since statistics are too low and ridiculous to be considered to mark accident reduction trends, writes Periscope.
