The upcoming general elections in Britain are only scheduled for 2022, and that is why Johnson needs parliamentary approval to call early elections.
He has already tried it twice, but without success. Johnson said December 12th would give lawmakers enough time to review his Brex law before the elections.
Under this plan, parliament will continue to work until November 6th, when the campaign begins.
