According to AFP, the Pence pressured Erdogan to terminate military operations in Syria, but that the response was “deficent” and unsuccessful for the US.
Later, Erdogan and Pence were joined by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, US officials said.
Last Wednesday, Turkey launched operation “Peace Source” in northern Syria, and in response the US imposed sanctions on official Ankara.
Otherwise, just before the start of action in Syria, a letter issued by Donald Trump to Erdogan warning him “not to become a fool”
