Musa Hoxha, a doctor at KKUK's Pulmology Clinic in an interview for Online Economics, suggests that the incident is conducted about 40 new cases of 100,000 people.
He says that despite the lack of cancer-registery, the number of persons affected with lung cancer is brought by between 600 and 700 within a year.
The number of cases is, every day, with lung cancer diagnosis. But in Kosovo we don't have record cancer and we don't have an accurate number of patients diagnosed during the year. Even though Kosovo and Turkey don't have record cancer, there are some incidents that have to be brought about 40 new cases of 100,000 people. Within the year it should once be about 600 or 700 cases. But we don't have accurate data on lung cancer in new cancer cases”, said counterpart Hoxha.
Hoxha further said that compared to countries in the region, Kosovo has fewer lung cancer patients. Based on the genocide, Hoxha stresses that Hungary leads with the largest number of cancer patients, then following Serbia, which ranks second.
“
According to him, recent years have increased the number of new lung cancer cases, not only in Kosovo, but worldwide.
The last “, the number is growing in general as far as neoplasms in the organism especially lung cancer is growing not only in our country but also in countries of the region and the world. It is now thought that there are 2 million each year diagnosed new cases of lung cancer”, the community noted.
He also mentioned some of the leading causes of this type of cancer from smoking to asthma.
The primary causes of lung cancer are smoking, but we also have endogenous factors, such as genetics, but there are pollution factors, meaning air pollutors and radon gas that come out of the interior of the earth and radioactive elements. One of the causes is absist”, show away Hoxha.
Something to be mentioned by Hoxha is that symptoms in such patients always appear late.
“As far as lung cancer is concerned not only in our country, even in the most developed Western countries, becomes late diagnosis because the signs they give us are too late. First, a cough that lasts for over four weeks, especially when the collage of blood begins, it means blood-based, then chest pain, fatigue, slackness, weight loss. These are symptoms that give us signs that something is developing. But the actual diagnosis begins if a lung gythen becomes”, he stressed.
Hoxha reported that 99 percent of lung cancer is pregnosis, but the cases that can be operated on are up to five years.
All cases of lung cancer, after diagnosis, are sent to the Oncology clinic at QKUK.
Lung cancer is part of the first group of cancers in men in general, while females become the third group.
