Upgraded for 1662 positions in the Webometrics ranking, leaving behind the University of Tirana, Sarajevo, Skopje and Nis

In the recent update published by the prestigious ranking of world universities, Webometrics, Pristina University “hasan Pristina” has marked the largest establishment ever, ranking 1471th in the world.  

In the January edition of this year, the Webometrics reflects the UP's establishment of 1662 positions higher since 2018, when the UPP was 3133th in the world among about 30,000 universities.

Based on the publication of the Webometrics, The UP is ranked 565th in Europe, meanwhile, to eighth place in the ranking of universities in the region, leaving behind the universities of Nis, Sarajevo, Skopje, Tirana, etc. The UP, according to the Webometrics results, continues to be the leader of higher education in Albanian-speaking space.

For UP's rector, Marjan Dema, the establishment of UPa presents the most positive news of higher education. According to him “UP's continuing to improve its global ranking, with which it represents Kosovo with dignity and, anywhere in the world”.  

Dema attributes this success to the UP's academic staff, while for this achievement, commends management and management bodies, administrative staff and UPI students.

Many of our professors have worked extremely hard to contribute research to their academic discipline, which covers their skills and dedication to the university, which resulted in such success UP and our country”, Demas said.

Progress UP's in this direction is also as a result of the work of the Sponsorized Research and Projects Office, founded in 2018, which is aimed at supporting research and funding projects of academic staff. The UP in this direction has also been supported by other local and international partners.

Webometrics is one of the world's most important rankings, held under the auspices of the Supreme Scientific Research Council (Consenio Superor de Cintifias Investigation ʹ CSIS), based in Madrid, a unit of Spain's Education Ministry.

Cybermetrics is a non-profit rankingr who “does not accept payment for involvement in the ranking, nor even offers for advertising of any University”.
