If you look forward to the weekend to stay longer in bed, you'll be happier now, because science supports that this is the solution to prolonging your life.
Can your sleeping habits affect life expectancy?
If you get a lot of sleep or not, the risk of fatality increases significantly. This may be the result of total health sleep impact, or it may be the result of other diseases that affect longevity and sleep length.
Sleep duration and life expectancy:
In one study, scientists have observed more than 21,000 twins for more than 22 years. They asked questions about their sleeping habits and observed their life spans.
Twins are excellent research subjects because most of them are raised in the same environment and have the same genetic structure. For this reason scientists may isolate the impact of behavior (such as this, lasting sleep) on one result (in this case life expectancy).
The participants were asked questions at the start of the study and after 22 years. Relative questions about the length of sleep, the use of sleeping drugs, and its quality. What they found was that people who slept less than seven hours, or more than eight hours a night, had a fatal increase of 17-24%. Using sleep drugs increased the mortality rate by almost a third.
This study shows that the weakness for sleeping is seven or eight hours - the sufficient time for sleep that a person needs. Although the need for sleep may depend on people.
Growth in growth for various lengths of sleep may be the reason for fewer or more sleeps, but it may also be that a certain factor can cause changes in sleep and changes in growth.
For example, if someone has heart disease, it can change the way and length of a person's sleep and the risk of fatality.
Side effects of sleep deprivation:
Getting sufficient sleep and rest can improve your overall health and even contribute to your life span.
By contrast, failure to get enough sleep can have harmful effects on health and life span.
Research suggests that sleeping regularly for less than seven hours a night can have negative effects on the cardiovascular system, endocrine, immune, and nervous.
Side effects of sleep deprivation may include obesity, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, anxiety, depression, and alcohol abuse.
