The study analyzed the data of some 11,000 young people in Britain, and researchers found that 14 - year - old girls were the most social media users, staying at those more than three hours a day, broadcast the REL.

When researchers examined basic processes that could be related to social media use and depression, they found that 40 percent of girls and 25 percent of boys had experience in online harassment. Yvonne Kelly, a professor at the London University College Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care, who co-led research, urged parents and policymakers to take note of the results of this research.
