The Royal Court of Sheffield has sentenced former footballer of Real Madrid's youth team, Niall Mason, to two years in prison on bail because of a sexual assault he had made on February 18, 2018.
The 22-year-old attacked his wife during a private party last year. He had pulled his hair and put his hand under his wife's shirt during this holiday in Doncaster, England, broadcast Express.
Judge Jeremy Richardson, who handed the sentence for Doncaster's football player, this club at League One, the third football level in England, told Mason that he has disappointed other football players.
You have not only disappointed yourself with this rude behavior, but you have disappointed all your associates. People consider footballers to be examples, for good or for bad, especially young people, and they will see this news in the newspaper”, Judge Richardson said.

What a terrible example you set. Unfortunately, you have disgraced the football profession.
Prosecutor Gordon Stables indicated that the attack had occurred during the time when the victim had been conversing with a friend.
“The accused [Mason] pulled the hair off his wife and pulled it toward himself. She tried to get away, but he kept pulling. She said to him: I have a girlfriend.
Later, the Stables explained how Mason had voluntarily put his hand under his wife's shirt, licked his skin, and then ordered the victim to cover the exposed skin.
The woman, who cannot be appointed for legal reasons, had ignored Mason. Stables indicates that Mason had put his hand back under her shirt, this time even touching her private parts.
The woman was left completely shocked. She showed her friend and hit the player's hand. Then he showed the responsible people at the party for this sexual assault”, and he let Stables know.
The holiday staff had forced Mason to abandon the holiday, and later the victim had reported the incident to the police. When asked by the police, Mason had admitted that he had been drinking alcohol at the party, but he had denied the sexual assault.
After the party, a test of The DNA confirmed that Mason had made this sexual assault, which the victim says has affected his entire life.
“I have often wondered how I would react to such a situation, and I always felt that I would scream, react, and confront that person. The reality is, I was completely frozen. I said no a few times. I've barely had any sleep in my eyes since that incident,”, the victim said.
Mason pleaded guilty from the beginning of the trial, and his lawyer tried to lower his sentence by saying that the footballer has changed and does not do such things. He was sentenced to six months in prison and two years in prison on bail, as well as to pay the court's expenses worth 3 thousand euros.
