“We will continue to talk with the Crown Prince and Saudis to ensure that the responsibility is complete in terms of the unacceptable murder of Jamal Khashoggit”, Mr. Pompeo said Sunday after a meeting with Qatar Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
Journalist Khashoggi was killed within Turkey's Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October. At first Saudi Arabia said it had come out of the consulate safely, but later acknowledged that he had been killed in an operation that had come out of control.
Turkey said the order for his murder had come from the highest levels of Saudi government, but Saudi officials insist it was not ordered by the crown prince.
