Official: Number of Kosovo teams to participate in UEFA competitions published

The Kosovo Football Federation (FFK) has announced to Kosovo clubs that even this year only two of them will be able to participate in the new edition of UEFA's competitions, the Express follows.

The team that will win this year's champion title in Kosovo will go to the pre-qualifications of the Champions League, while the winner of the Kosovo Cup will go to the European League component, of course if licensed by the FFK.

If he fails to meet the conditions, then the right will be granted to the Kosovo Vice-Crime.

The license manager, Bajram Shala, has announced to clubs that even this year the champion team will participate in the pre-qualifying round that is held with four teams. He has made it known that this year's FFK has applied to take the organisation of this round, so that we can create better conditions for the champion club to represent Kosovo as best it can and have the support of fans”, it is said in announcing the FFK released following a seminar held with representatives of clubs about their license for European races.

Mayor Agim Ademi hopes that more Kosovo clubs will go from the next edition in Europe.

After the good results we have had with the national team, we have applied for our championships to be assessed and elevated to a higher level, as we consider that we are not at large with some states that have far weaker leagues. So our goal is for our championship to be rated higher in order to increase the number of teams that will be part of European races. But to achieve this, we need to have regularity and quality of racing, then better infrastructure and literal match organisation”, the president of Ademi stressed.
