For the Kosovo Producers Club, it is unacceptable that the Central Procurement Agency, which has made purchases on behalf of independent agencies, has opened tenders to buy products originating from Serbia.
Kosovo producers' “Klub has consistently appealed to all institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to support local products in all public acquisitions. The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo should give priority to local products during public procurement, and we ask that the Public Procurement Law be changed because even under the SAA it is allowed to give priority to local products. This practice applies in most countries of the region and in EU countries”, it says in response.
According to the Producers Club, this action by the Central Procurement Agency expresses the negligence and ignorance this institution has towards local products and support and economic development of the country.
The producers' “Klub hopes the government will take appropriate measures against this action, and at the same time this will be the last time foreign products are favoured and local products are bypassed and damaged”, the response is highlighted at the end.
