Barcelona can be eliminated on the table from the King's Cup for this edition, even though the results in green field qualified it in the quarterfinals.
The opponent of “blagrana” in the 1/8th phase of the Levante final has submitted the sole judge of the Competition Committee to punish Barcelona, claiming that the Catalan team has activated a suspended player in the match played last week.
Juan Bandriz, known by all as Chummy, has been activated by Coach Ernesto Valverde, despite being suspended with Barca's second team, after the fifth yellow card received January 6th, in the match played against Castellon.
Levantes' leaders insist Barcelona failed to meet RFEF disciplinary Code provisions.
Barcelona has explained that this rule has been changed and says that light sentences are compensated for in the competition, while severe punishments lie in some competitions.
Now it remains to be seen what the decision will be and whether Barcelona will be expelled from the King's Cup for this edition.
