The first visit to Brussels by the Kosovo Delegation for dialogue with Serbia, since this delegation had been formalised in the Kosovo Assembly, has passed by introducing the role of this dialogue and attitudes as its members see them, while on the part of the EU recalling the EU's role and goals as facilitating and repeating requirements for creating conditions for continuing dialogue, especially the urgent removal of the tax Kosovo has decided on the import of goods from Serbia.
The Kosovo delegation has had a meeting with the EU Foreign Action Service team (EEAS) and has met with EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Federika Moghrini, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
Co-chairees of the Kosovo Delegation, Fatmir Limaj and Shpend Ahmeti, who were at the helm this time of a very large delegation, insisted after the meeting that this state delegation is now the only address for dialogue, and even invitations for the president should go through this delegation.
In the EU, they continue to claim that “does not belong to the EU to say who should and who does not represent Kosovo in the” dialogue. But what the EU wants even after this meeting is the urgent removal of the tax on goods from Serbia.
In an effort to secure an exit from this blockade, Angelina Eichhorst, director at EEAS, who has the main role in dialogue, comes to Belgrade and Pristina. It seems that the way out is required through “sequencing” of implementation of the tax decision, unless the solution is reached.
