Mustafa said that the life and work of Kosovo Hero, Tahir Zemaj, today is remembered with special respect.
He, according to the head of the LDK, was a military by profession, a prominent fighter and leader in Kosovo's struggle for freedom, independence and democracy, which died down in peacetime.
The “Thiri, who enjoyed all the human, national and professional qualities that a prominent military needs, was decorated with the Golden Medal of Mother Teresa by President Ibrahim Rugova, Kosovo's Heroi by President Sejdiu and the Nation's King Nisani. Tahiri was a key figure in the Forces of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kosovo, founded by the Government that operated in immigration, with the approval of President Ibrahim Rugova, who was expressed by Colonel Zemaj was a great man of Kosovo who worked for Kosovo's freedom, independence and democracy. He is an example of the state-owned military man with culture, always ready to defend and honor his country. Such people need Kosovo in peacetime as well, Mustafa has said.
Tahiri co-operated closely with Ahmet Krasniqi, the first Minister of Defence of the Republic of Kosovo and co-ordinated military activities along with Sali Cekaj. Today, we commemorate Tahiri's most distinguished military acts and victories, such as that of Loja, Luka, Yunik, Baran's lugu and the rescue of residents from the massacre prepared for the 1998-85x1> siege, the LDK leader added further.
“Tahir Zemaj was killed at a moment of waiting in the early morning hours of January 4th 2003, when his car was severely hit by a hail of bullets taking his life from Tahir, his son Enis and his cousin Hasani. His killers were never found or sentenced by justice bodies”, Mustafa has indicated.
