The Infectious Clinic Director at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (QKUK), Hamdi Ramadani, in an interview given the Telegraph has talked about the flu virus, which has spread to this winter season, saying the epidemiological situation from the flu virus is under control and there is no room for panic.
Ramadani said that some 15 cases have been recorded in this clinic, which have been passed through the ambulance service.
According to him, two of these cases are in intensive treatment because of their heavy condition.
“At the Infective Clinic, we have 15 cases recorded or extended to the clinic, which have been passed through the ambulance service. Two of which are in intensive care and are of the most serious weight with complications. Some are younger and some older. We have two more serious cases because they have the most advanced disease. These guys are under intensive care and are wearing assistive masks. We hope that their situation will be out of the question for life, even though the case is serious”, Ramadani said, about Telegrafi.
He also indicated that last year it was this pathology, where the number of recorded cases has been 247.
We had this pathology last year. We had 247 recorded cases last year”, he said.
Director Ramadani stressed that the epidemiological situation is under control.
“Within these cases two have ended with mortality. There is no need for panic because the situation is under control. We've set up medical staff with two more doctors, but I don't think we're going to have a big flow of cases. We have an epidemic flu disease, but certainly located”, he indicated.
Ramadani said effective protection from the virus is important to vaccination of citizens.
The important “is the vaccine, even though it seems it has not been at a satisfactory level, since it has been immune”.
Asked what domestic conditions the patient can treat, Ramdan said: “The two criteria are how to protect themselves, if the population is well in health, a fluid care is sufficient for the disease to pass in four five days. If the cases are severe, those cases at the first moment should be offered to the hospital for therapy”.
Otherwise, two people have died this year in Kosovo as a consequence of the flu. This has been reported by officials from the National Institute of Public Health, in which from October last year, when the first cases of flu have been reported, 18,736 suspected flu cases, 3,233 cases of acute respiratory infections, and 19 cases of acute respiratory infections. /Telegraphy/
