Heart attack is more frequent on older people, and it presents the situation when the heart is too weak to push blood through the body properly. The latest American study suggests something other than earlier research. According to this research, small amounts of alcohol consumption can help the heart.
“We knew that the poisonous effects of alcohol could trigger the heart attack. However, we now have evidence that healthy people who drink alcohol have a kind of protection from heart attack in the long term, compared with people who don't use alcohol at all, says Professor David Brown, who legalises at Washington University.
Researchers found links between the consumption of seven drinks a week with the extension of life for more than a year, writes “Daily Mail”.
