Croatian midfielder rejects Chelsea

The future of Croatia's midfielder has again been questioned this transitional deadline, as various media reported that the 30-year-old could be transferred to Chelsea during the passing summer deadline, Periscope follows.

The London club is believed to be monitoring Rakic's situation in Barcelona, as it will find it even more difficult to occupy a place in Barcelona's first formation, following Frankie de Jong's transfer from Ajax.

Rakitic is aware of these speculations and of the young players who will compete against him for a country in the first formation, however, he indicated he does not want to leave this club.

I want to be here and if I can renew the contract, I want to be here for many more years. I'm very happy here, everyone knows this, and most of all, the President knows. I have nothing else to say”, Rakic said.
