The institutional clash between the president and prime minister, with the focus of Albanian diplomacy, has produced the first consequences in the country's foreign policy, starting with relations with Germany, the country with the most weightful in Europe.

Top Channel learned that Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati has cancelled his visit to Germany, scheduled for next week. Bushat was due to meet his counterpart in Berlin, where on Tuesday, January 15th they would be received on official visit by Germany's Foreign Minister Heiko Mass.

Recent developments have forced Ditmir Bushati to cancel the foreign agenda, part of which were two meetings in Brussels on January 10th, also cancelled: the one with the European Union's foreign policy chief, Federica Moghrini, as well as meeting with the Euro-commissionor for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, none of whom was held.

Ditmir Bushati is found in the conditions the prime minister has chosen to replace him, while the president refuses to decree his departure, an implant that has returned the “facto” cabinet to the Rama-Meta government.

Sources from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs told Top Channel that despite this situation and the annulment of the foreign agenda, two other meetings of Minister Bushati and his counterparts in Tirana remain confirmed. It is Italian Foreign Minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi's visits to Albania, scheduled for Wednesday (January 16th), as well as that of Dutch Foreign Minister Stephen Block, in the agenda Thursday.

Sources explain that to maintain the state's seriousness, Ditmir Bushati has not called for the annulment of these two visits, as long as they have been invited by Albanian authorities, as well as the two foreign ministers have confirmed the will to meet with Minister Bushati, despite recent developments. / TCh/
