Kosovo Constitutional Court Chairman Arta Rama-Hajriz hosted today the new US Ambassador to Pristina Philip Costet, who announced the work and challenges this institution has faced during the past year, especially in terms of functioning and decision making.
The simultaneous departure of four judges of the first generation appointed to the Constitutional Court and the loss of the quorum needed for decision-making last year were among the main challenges President Rama-Hajriz singled out at the meeting.
She expressed gratitude and gratitude for the help the US Government has so far offered to the Constitutional Court, but other institutions in the country, through projects funded by the Mission USAID in Kosovo.
While, the US diplomat confirmed his support for the working independence of the Constitutional Court and voiced pledge to deepen co-operation relations between the two friendly countries in all areas of mutual interest. /Periscopi
